Board committees
What do committees do?
Together with the board, the board committees of De Leidsche Flesch organise the association's activities, such as educational activities, game nights, parties, pub quizzes, trips, outings, and much more! These activities aim to enrich your study time with both study-related and personal development, but are of course also there for fun.
A committee has a so-called duration, the time in which a committee is actively involved in organising one or multiple activities. During this period, there are, for example, meetings and sometimes afternoons or evenings where the committee members can work on their tasks together. How much time you spend on a committee varies a lot, one committee only requires half an hour a week, while another might take two hours a week.
Why should you do a committee?
The main reason to do a committee is of course the fun experiences you get out of it! During your time on a committee, close bonds are also formed between committee members, as you work together as a team to organise fun activities.
Besides the fun aspects of doing a committee, it is also very good for your CV. It allows you to show that you have ambition for other types of development besides your studies, which can give you a point ahead in terms of organisational experience.

Guilds
What do guilds do?
The guilds of De Leidsche Flesch are groups of people who are interested in a particular subject, for example, the Graphical Guild is a group of people involved in graphic design. As a guild member, you can completely arrange how much time you spend on it. Some guilds, such as the Cooking and Frying Guild, receive requests, which members can pick up when they have the time and feel like it. Other guilds, such as the Archive and ICT Guild, spend time maintaining parts of the association.
Why join a guild?
The main reason to join a guild is because you really enjoy getting involved in the subject, but you don't have to already be familiar with something to join a guild. For example, you can also join a guild because you want to learn more about it. Other reasons could be that you want to do something at the association but don't want to join a committee, or that you want to do a little extra besides your committees.
