Route

By car

The easiest way is taking the A44 (on the west side of Leiden, so don't take the A4, which is on the east side of Leiden).

  • Take exit 8b (Leiden) and follow the N206 to Leiden (Bio Science Park-Oost I).
  • Keep to the right when the road splits, so don't go into the tunnel.
  • Take a left at the traffic lights.
  • You are driving straight towards a round building with a red roof. The Gorlaeus building is situated behind and to the right of this building. The easiest place to park is on your left in Parkeergarage Ehrenfest (Ehrenfestweg 1, 2333 CC  Leiden).

By public transport

The train to Leiden Central Station from The Hague takes approximately 10 minutes, from Amsterdam 35 minutes, from Rotterdam 30 minutes and from Utrecht 45 minutes.

From Leiden Central Station, you can take the bus:

  • Lines 43, 430, and 431 stop at Bio Science Park-Oost. After exiting the bus, follow the road and take the first right.
  • Lines 38 and 90 stop at Niels Bohrweg. After exiting the bus, walk back down the road and take the first left.

The Gorlaeus building is located behind and to the right of the round building with the red roof.

By bicycle or walking

It takes approximately 10 minutes to cycle from Leiden Centraal to the Snellius Building; walking takes 25 minutes.
